Look out for the hen harriers hunting on the surrounding croft!

28 April to 5 May 2007
Our first visit to the isles, - but it will not be our last. ... The lambs and lapwing with its two little chicks parading past the window each morning was a real bonus.

12 to 26 May 2007
Kitchen windows are great for watching surrounding wildlife. Peewit [Lapwing] chicks kept us entertained! Good views from Beinn Mhor and Hecla, though a tad windy on the tops!

26 May to 02 June 2007
We’ve had a wonderful, restful week. ... Batteries well and truly charged - just what the doctor ordered

02 to 08 June 2007
... the weather has been superb - fancy getting a suntan in the Outer Hebrides! We had a wonderful experience of watching the lapwings chasing off a short-eared owl ...

09 to 16 June 2007
... [the cottage] is immaculate, clean and well cared-for, a home-from-home. We’ve had some lovely walks in North and South Uist, and visited Eriskay and Barra. The local cuckoo has called to us each day.

16 to 23 June 2007
Lovely cottage, superb scenery, and a good base for the beaches and lochs. Great place to chill out and relax ... Many hours were spent just watching the lapwings and short-eared owls.

23 to 30 June 2007
[The cottage] is ultra clean and tidy, with good quality fittings. Views from all windows: especially [good] for keen bird watchers. Short-eared owls and harriers, plus many other birds - all from the kitchen windows. Good meals at Orasay Inn and Borrodale Hotel.

30 June to 07 July 2007
Great cottage with lovely views, terrific beaches for walking and watching birds. Good food at the Polochar Inn and the Borrodale Hotel. Great holiday!

07 to 14 July 2007
A most enjoyable week in this most comfortable cottage.

14 to 21 July 2007
Lovely weather - sun every day. The flowers in the machair are astonishing! Best walks included Ormacleit Castle and through the machair to Dun Vulan - a magical spot to picnic; then back along the white beach.

21 to 28 July 2007
Male hen harrier eating pray in surrounding field ... juvenile cuckoo on fence post being fed by meadow pipit ‘foster’ mum.

28 July to 03 August 2007
Lovely cosy cottage with great views all round. Weather good. Askernish golf course great fun for the less stuffy golfers. Full moon rising over the hills to the east was a highlight.

04 to 11 August 2007
Great cottage in a great location. Ideal for visiting all six islands on this side.

11 to 18 August 2007
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. We recommend the food at the Polochar Inn, together with the friendly service. We also had an excellent Sunday lunch at the Stepping Stones Restaurant in Balivanich.

18 to 25 August 2007
A lovely clean cottage, and the great windows make all the difference to the views. We were very comfortable here. Mixed weather - but going home with burnt noses! Walked lots of miles along lots of beaches

25 August to 01 September 2007
Lovely cosy cottage, very clean. ... Enjoyed a lovely lunch at Langass Lodge.

01 to 21 September 2007
We’ve been for lovely long walks along the beaches which are most impressive. We’ve seen a huge variety of birds ... The weather has been disappointing, but we have had a few beautiful days...

22 to 29 September 2007
A beautiful cosy cottage, perfect to return to after a day exploring. Fantastic weather has allowed us to see the amazing scenery at its best, some beautiful lochs for fishing, and the gorgeous white sand beaches. Some lovely meals in the Borrodale Hotel.

29 September to 06 October 2007
We enjoyed our stay at No 8 very much. Thanks for the vegetables and eggs!

06 October to 12 October 2007
Another very special week over here - made so much more comfortable by the immaculate condition of the cottage - thank you so very much! Experienced the very best of Hebridean weather for 5 days. Our day at Luskentyre was one of the best - most beautiful- days ever. Watched an otter at play whilst waiting for the ferry. Langass Lodge and Orasay Inn recommended - also Nunton Steadings for lunch. Hope to return again next year. Thanks again.

03 to 10 October 2007
Thoroughly enjoyed our break. Loved the cottage. Hope to return - in warmer time of year! Can highly recommend Nunton Steadings for afternoon tea ...
