Extracts from the cottage’s guest book in 2007
17 to 24 March 2007 Look out for the hen harriers hunting on the surrounding croft!
28 April to 5 May 2007 Our first visit to the isles, - but it will not be our last. ... The lambs and lapwing with its two little chicks parading past the window each morning was a real bonus.
12 to 26 May 2007 Kitchen windows are great for watching surrounding wildlife. Peewit [Lapwing] chicks kept us entertained! Good views from Beinn Mhor and Hecla, though a tad windy on the tops!
26 May to 02 June 2007 We’ve had a wonderful, restful week. ... Batteries well and truly charged - just what the doctor ordered
02 to 08 June 2007 ... the weather has been superb - fancy getting a suntan in the Outer Hebrides! We had a wonderful experience of watching the lapwings chasing off a short-eared owl ...
09 to 16 June 2007 ... [the cottage] is immaculate, clean and well cared-for, a home-from-home. We’ve had some lovely walks in North and South Uist, and visited Eriskay and Barra. The local cuckoo has called to us each day.
16 to 23 June 2007 Lovely cottage, superb scenery, and a good base for the beaches and lochs. Great place to chill out and relax ... Many hours were spent just watching the lapwings and short-eared owls.
23 to 30 June 2007 [The cottage] is ultra clean and tidy, with good quality fittings. Views from all windows: especially [good] for keen bird watchers. Short-eared owls and harriers, plus many other birds - all from the kitchen windows. Good meals at Orasay Inn and Borrodale Hotel.
30 June to 07 July 2007 Great cottage with lovely views, terrific beaches for walking and watching birds. Good food at the Polochar Inn and the Borrodale Hotel. Great holiday!
07 to 14 July 2007 A most enjoyable week in this most comfortable cottage.
14 to 21 July 2007 Lovely weather - sun every day. The flowers in the machair are astonishing! Best walks included Ormacleit Castle and through the machair to Dun Vulan - a magical spot to picnic; then back along the white beach.
